Stay away from Quick Sales...
I bought a Ford Focus from a private seller in Autotrader-
it was advertised for a quick sale - for about
£600 cheaper than any other car I had seen. I
went and had a look at the car, everything
looked ok and I purchased it. When I got the
logbook
I found out that the car was an insurance
write-off - Cat C. I felt really sick that I had been robbed, I
was completely mislead and I ended up with a
crashed car. I used a car history check
service through your site when I helped my
girlfriend buy her next car and it has been the
best £10 I ever spent. |

Check everything
I wonder if anyone thought that Car Dealers and
Traders were honest people. I was about to buy a
car from a so called reputable dealer and
decided to do some checking on a colleagues
advice. Was i surprised when I found out that
the car that i was going to buy was a damaged
car that had undergone some pretty major repairs
about 2 years before. But the dealer never once
mentioned any of this. Your site is been
excellent as it helped me to get the right info
cheaply and quickly,. Thoroughly recommend you
site to everyone. |

Feedback on your website
I just passed my test and wanted to get my first
car. I wanted to buy a sports car and my father
helped me buy but being the cautious man that he
is - he got me to find car history checking
websites so that we could get it checked.
When I showed him your site - he was most
impressed and I now understand the pitfalls. You
have helped me secure my dream car so a big
thanks guys. |

Dont buy anything without
proper checks
I bought a Used Vehicle From a Popular Used Car
Chain, I Had All Kinds of Mechanical Problems,
and Found Out the Vehicle Had Been involved in
an accident. Then the Car Dealer Refused to
Stand By their Guarantee! I
purchased a 1999 model with 29,242 miles. Yes,
that's what it showed and what the car
dealership represented. On the first day it
overheated and the water pump went out. by the
third day i was not sure and I demanded my money
back under their no-quibble 3 day money back
guarantee but they convinced me they would
repair everything. They replaced the radiator
and all the hoses, and by the way they also
fixed both doors, replaced the weather stripping
on the driver's door and pulled the door post
out . . . that is why the air was coming
through. It turned out that the car was an
insurance write off and had been badly repaired
- but I was still taken in.
Luckily, I did eventually get all my money back
in full, but after a lot of unnecessary stress
and wasted time.
I would urge everyone to save themselves this
hassle by doing a check before you buy. I found
this site after my ordeal and it is the best
resource i have found. My new car.... it checked
out and it is fine.
